Bob Fox, Addie Greene, Jerry
Kenefick, Ellie Mitchell, Shirley
Stoneberger, and
Don Walker attended. Becca
Ostrom and Gee
Gee Walker were absent. Bernadine Lacy also attended to
discuss the issue of the 2010 Medford
regional.
The January 8 minutes were accepted as
amended.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Kemble Yates’ carried forward reports
showed a balance of $400 more than the
unit has. He also found $176 that he didn’t know the unit had,
so the true balance is down a little
more than $200 from previous reports.
OLD BUSINESS
Ellie said we must have a working printer
in time for the Spring Fling. March 14‑15.
Bob explained that the ink jet printer he bought for $20 from
Brother came with a 1/4‑full cartridge, and all the color
cartridges that cartridges are more
expensive than the $70 it would cost to buy a new laserprinter.
Jerry moved that we buy a laser printer and offered to do so.
Shirley and Don will discuss
followup on the bridge roundup.
Bob and Don will pick up the remaining
tables still at the Scottish Rite.
Charles McCoy, the manager, is there from
9‑2 on Mondays, Bernadine said.
NEW BUSINESS
George Quinn will be in charge of clean up
for the Spring Fling, and Dorothy Purcell will help with
hospitality. Bernadine will direct. The Aceof
Clubs and Minney McKinney winners
for 2008 will be announced. Don asked that the lunch break
during the sectional Sunday Swiss teams be
held earlier—no later than one o’clock. Bernadine said we
ought to be abl to run three rounds
and be finished by one. She will ask District 20 if itwill
pay half our caddy fees on the day of the Grand National Teams
final.
Bernadine attended to give her input on the
next Medford regional, which Marilyn
Vilhauer, District 20 Tournament Chair, suggested we
postpone until 2011. Jerry moved, and Bob seconded the motion,
that Unit 484 support holding the
regional as scheduled in May of 2010. The motion carried
unanimously. Both
Becca and Gee
Gee supported, in absentia, holding the
regional as planned. In addition,
Juanita Lake, president of the Grants Pass
unit, Bobby Thompson, president of the Klamath Falls
unit, and Mike Pavlik,
president of the Yreka unit, support
holding the regional in 2010.
Bernandine
suggested that we rename the regional the State of Jefferson
message to players in Portland and
the Bay Area.
I volunteered to be tournament chair for
the regional.
DISTRICT REPORT
Don asked that Bernadine request an org
chart from the District 20 secretary
showing the responsibilities of all district personnel and the
chain of command from the district to
the unit and its area rep. Don asked that
each unit board review this information and approve it. The
board asked Bernadine to bring up the issues of playing start
times, and a coffee/snack bar readily
available to players at the next regional whenshe
meets with the district board during the Portland Regional.
The next meeting will be March 12 at the
Masonic Lodge.
Respectfully submitted,
Addie Greene, secretary
